«Մենք ենք մեր սարերը» գործակալության համահիմնադիր, Արցախի նախկին պետնախարար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում  գրել է․

Այսօր, երբ բոլորդ Հայաստանում և այլուր նշում եք Երեխաների պաշտպանության օրը, մի պահ հիշեք, որ Արցախում արդեն շուրջ վեց ամիս շարունակվող շրջափակման պայմաններում 30 հազար երեխա է ապրում:
 
30 ՀԱԶԱՐ ԵՐԵԽԱ, որոնք զրկված են իրենց ամենակարևոր իրավունքներից, 30 ՀԱԶԱՐ ԵՐԵԽԱ, որոնք ապրում են ադրբեջանական մշտական սպառնալիքների ու ագրեսիայի պայմաններում, որոնք ի տարբերություն աշխարհի շատ երկրներում ապրող իրենց հասակակիցների, արդեն զգացել են ինչ է շրջափակումը, ինչ է ցուրտը, ինչ է թերսնումը և մեծերի նման գիտեն, ինչ է նշանակում հայրենիքից, իրենց ընկերներից, իրենց տնից զրկվելու վտանգը...
 
Այն անհատներին, կազմակերպություններին, հատկապես՝ երեխաների իրավունքների պաշտպանությամբ զբաղվող միջազգային կազմակերպություններին, մինչև գեղեցիկ խոսքերով տեքստեր և լուսանկարներ հրապարակելը, կոչ եմ անում հիշել Արցախի երեխաների մասին, մի կողմ թողնել հերթապահ բառերը ու մտածել, թե ինչ պետք է անեն արդեն վեց ամիս շարունակ Արցախի երեխաների խախտվող իրավունքները պաշտպանելու համար:
 
Ես նայում եմ Արցախի երեխաների աչքերին և հսկայական պատասխանատվություն եմ զգում նրանց առջև։ Ես՝ Ռուբեն Վարդանյանս, պատասխանատու եմ, որ այս երեխաները շարունակեն մեծանալ այստեղ, կրթություն ստանան, գտնեն իրենց երջանկությունը, ստեղծեն ընտանիքներ և կյանք տան հայության նոր սերունդների։ Եվ յուրաքանչյուր ոք, ում համար թանկ են Արցախն ու նրա զավակները, ում համար իսկապես կարևոր են երեխաների իրավունքները, պետք է անձնական պատասխանատվություն կրի Արցախի երեխաների ապագայի համար:
