Young Musicians of the “Armenian Virtuosos” Program Perform in the COP17
ՄշակույթOn October 21, young musicians from the Armenian Virtuosos program of the Music for Future Foundation, founded by conductor Sergey Smbatyan, performed in the Green Zone of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17).
As part of this international event dedicated to environmental protection, the young musicians shared their artistry with visitors, making music a part of the dialogue surrounding art, nature, and the future.
The concert program featured renowned works by Armenian composers alongside pieces from the world’s musical heritage. The audience enjoyed Aram Khachaturian’s “Ayesha’s Dance” from the ballet Gayane and the “Waltz” from the incidental music to Masquerade; music by Tigran Mansuryan from the films White Dreams and A Piece of Sky; as well as Enrique Fernández Arbós’s Bolero and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Prelude and Polka and Waltz No. 2. The program concluded with Freddie Mercury’s iconic song We Are the Champions.
The performance once again highlighted the unifying power of art and the role of culture in conveying important ideas and values.
Music brought together art and care for nature, reminding us that the choices we make today shape the world of tomorrow—a world we want to see as harmonious, beautiful, and full of care.
Through its Armenian Virtuosos program, the Music for Future Foundation continues to support talented young musicians by creating opportunities for their professional development, artistic expression, and participation in diverse cultural platforms.
