Ucom Measures the Environmental Impact of Its Operations
ՀասարակությունAs part of its environmental initiatives, Ucom has measured the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the operations of its headquarters, establishing a baseline for future emissions management and reduction efforts.
The assessment was conducted using internationally recognized methodologies, including the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1:2018. The study analyzed the main sources of emissions generated by the operations of Ucom’s headquarters, making it possible to identify the areas where further action could have the greatest impact. The active involvement of Ucom employees also played an important role in the process, helping to develop a more comprehensive understanding of certain indirect emissions associated with the company’s operations.
“For Ucom, environmental responsibility is an important part of our long-term development. We consider it important not only to implement individual initiatives, but also to understand the impact of our operations and make more responsible decisions. This assessment is another tool that will help us make this work more consistent and measurable,” said Ralph Yirikian, General Director of Ucom.
Based on the assessment results, Ucom has developed a roadmap through 2036, which includes measures aimed at improving energy efficiency, optimizing the building’s heating systems, reducing emissions associated with the company’s vehicle fleet and employee commuting, as well as measures in other relevant areas.
The roadmap is expected to be reviewed annually to assess results and priorities and, where necessary, refine the next steps. At later stages, Ucom plans to gradually expand the scope of the assessment to include its data centers, network infrastructure, and branches.
