«Միասնության թևեր» կուսակցությունը բազմիցս հրապարակայնորեն հանդես է եկել համազգային նշանակության հարցերի շուրջ համախմբվելու առաջարկով։ Այսօր վերահաստատում ենք մեր պատրաստակամությունը՝ ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական և հասարակական ուժերի հետ համատեղ ձևավորելու Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանության, պետական անվտանգության, սահմանադրական կարգի և ազգային ինքնության պաշտպանության օրակարգը և համաձայնեցնելու դրա իրականացման քայլերը։
 
Քաղաքական տարաձայնությունների առկայությունը, նախկինում ունեցած բազմաթիվ հարցերի շուրջ անհամաձայնությունները չեն կարող որոշիչ լինել հայրենիքի համար ճգնաժամային վիճակում միավորվելու համար։Այս համախմբման անհրաժեշտությունը պայմանավորված է արտաքին պարտադրանքի և ներքին քաղաքական ճնշումների փոխկապակցված վտանգներով։
 
Մեր գնահատմամբ՝ իշխանությունը, սեփական քաղաքական պատասխանատվությունն ընդունելու փոխարեն, բացառապես արտաքին ուժերի հերթական պահանջի կատարումը ներկայացնում է որպես խաղաղության պահպանման անխուսափելի պայման, իսկ այդ քաղաքականությանը դիմադրող ուժերին՝ որպես խաղաղությանը խոչընդոտողներ՝ սահմանափակելով պետական նշանակության որոշումների շուրջ ազատ քննարկման և քաղաքական հակազդեցության հնարավորությունը։
 
Հայ հասարակությունում չկա և չի կարող լինել անկախության հռչակագրից հրաժարվելու պահանջ։ Հետևաբար այդպիսի օրակարգը մեր արտաքին թշնամիների օրակարգն է, որը սպասարկում է գործող իշխանությունը, իսկ ցանկացած նման զիջում բերելու է նոր պահանջների եւ զիջումների։
 
Այս համատեքստում ենք գնահատում նաև նոյեմբերի 4-ին Սամվել Կարապետյանի և նրա հետ առնչվող անձանց նկատմամբ իրականացված քննչական գործողությունները։ Առանց գործի քրեաիրավական հանգամանքների վերաբերյալ դիրքորոշում հայտնելու՝ դրանց ծավալն ու քաղաքական միջավայրը հիմք են տալիս գնահատելու, որ հետապնդվում է նաև ընդդիմության դիմադրությունը թուլացնելու և սահմանադրական փոփոխությունների համար նպաստավոր ներքաղաքական պայմաններ ստեղծելու նպատակ։
 
Ընդդիմության նկատմամբ «հանրային ճնշում» գործադրելու և այն կառավարող մեծամասնության կողմից առաջնորդելու մասին հնչող ելույթները խորացնում են այդ մտահոգությունը։ Մենք խստորեն դատապարտում ենք պետական լծակներն ընդդիմախոսներին ճնշելու, քաղաքական այլախոհությունը սահմանափակելու և հանրային քննարկումը վախի մթնոլորտով փոխարինելու ցանկացած գործելակերպ։
 
Հավատարիմ մեր հրապարակային դիրքորոշմանը և արձանագրելով, որ նոյեմբերի 4-ին ընդդիմադիր ուժերի համատեղ հայտարարության մասին «Միասնության թևեր» կուսակցությունը տեղեկացել է մամուլից՝ պատրաստ ենք մասնակցելու այս սկզբունքների վրա հիմնված համախմբման նախաձեռնություններին։
 
Այդ համագործակցությունը պետք է կառուցվի՝
հստակ ընդհանուր օրակարգի,
մասնակիցների իրավահավասարության,
փոխադարձ հարգանքի և հանրության առջև պատասխանատվության վրա՝ բաց լինելով նաև քաղաքացիների մասնակցության համար։
 
Մեր նպատակը համատեղ քաղաքական աշխատանքն ու համաձայնեցված գործողություններն են՝ պաշտպանելու Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանությունն ու սահմանադրական կարգը, ամրապնդելու ազգային համերաշխությունը և հասնելու արժանապատիվ ու կայուն խաղաղության՝ առանց արտաքին պարտադրանքի և ազգային ու պետական շահերի հաշվին զիջումների։
