Քաղաքական պայքարի սրացմանը զուգահեռ ավելի տեսանելի է դառնում մեկ օրինաչափություն՝ որքան բարձրանում են «Ուժեղ Հայաստան» կուսակցության հնարավորությունները առաջիկա ընտրություններում, այնքան ուժեղանում է ճնշումը նրա թիմի նկատմամբ։ Վերջին ամիսներին կուսակցության գործունեության շուրջ ձևավորված մթնոլորտը ցույց է տալիս, որ իշխանությունները «Ուժեղ Հայաստանը» դիտարկում են որպես իրական քաղաքական մրցակից։

Կուսակցության յուրաքանչյուր քաղաքական քայլ՝ մամուլի ասուլիս, հանրահավաք, մարզային հանդիպում կամ առաջնորդ Սամվել Կարապետյանի ելույթ, ուղեկցվում է տարբեր ճնշումներով ու տեղեկատվական հարձակումներով։ Խուզարկություններ, ձերբակալություններ, կալանավորումներ, տարբեր մեղադրանքների շրջանակում ապացույցների որոնումներ՝ այս ամենը, ըստ քաղաքական դիտորդների, մեկ նպատակ ունի՝ թուլացնել «Ուժեղ Հայաստանի» դիրքերը և մարգինալացնել քաղաքական ուժին։

Սակայն ստեղծված իրավիճակը նաև հակառակ ազդեցությունն է ունենում։ Քաղաքական շրջանակներում ավելի հաճախ են հնչում գնահատականներ, որ նման ճնշումները միայն մեծացնում են հասարակության հետաքրքրությունն ու համակրանքը կուսակցության նկատմամբ։ Շատերի համոզմամբ՝ եթե իշխանությունը նման ծավալի ռեսուրս է օգտագործում ընդդիմադիր ուժի դեմ, նշանակում է այն արդեն ընկալվում է որպես լուրջ սպառնալիք գործող իշխանության համար։

«Ուժեղ Հայաստան» կուսակցությունը նախընտրական պայքարում փորձում է հանդես գալ առավել հավասարակշռված դիրքերից՝ շեշտադրելով ոչ թե միայն քաղաքական հակադրությունը, այլ մարդկանց առօրյա խնդիրների լուծման հստակ ծրագրերը։ Կուսակցության ներկայացուցիչները պարբերաբար խոսում են սոցիալական ծանր վիճակի, աղքատության, աշխատատեղերի, բնակարանային խնդիրների, առողջապահության և տնտեսական զարգացման մասին՝ ներկայացնելով իրենց առաջարկած լուծումները։

Սամվել Կարապետյանի քաղաքական կերպարի շուրջ քննարկումները ևս գնալով ակտիվանում են։ Վերլուծաբանների մի մասի կարծիքով՝ նա արդեն դիտարկվում է ոչ միայն որպես խոշոր գործարար կամ հասարակական գործիչ, այլ նաև որպես վարչապետի պաշտոնի իրական հավակնորդ։ Կարապետյանն ինքն էլ հայտարարել էր, որ լիովին գիտակցում է Հայաստանի վարչապետի պաշտոնի բարդությունն ու պատասխանատվությունը, սակայն վստահ է իր կարողությունների վրա։ Նրա հայտարարությունները, քաղաքական շրջանակների կարծիքով, վկայում են, որ նա պատրաստ է ամբողջությամբ նվիրվել պետական կառավարման գործին։

Նախընտրական գործընթացների խորացմանը զուգահեռ ակնհայտ է դառնում, որ «Ուժեղ Հայաստանը» այլևս չի դիտարկվում որպես սովորական ընդդիմադիր ուժ։ Այն արդեն ձևավորվում է որպես քաղաքական իրական կենտրոն, որն ունի կազմակերպված թիմ, աճող աջակցություն և գործող իշխանության համար լուրջ մրցակցային ներուժ։
