Գիտնականները պնդում են՝ ախտանիշներ չունեցող վարակակիրները նույն կերպ են տարածում կորոնավիրուսը, ինչպես ախտանիշներ ունեցողները:

Լոնդոնի Թագավորական քոլեջի հետազոտության համաձայն՝ կորոնավիրուսի վարակի տարածմանը մեծապես նպաստում են ախտանիշ չունեցողները. ի տարբերություն ախտանիշներ ունեցող հիվանդների, որոնք որպես կանոն սահմանափակում են իրենց շփումները, ասիմպտոմ հիվանդները հիմնականում առանց գիտակցելու զգուշավորություն չեն դրսևորում:

Կորոնավիրուսի բռնկումից շուրջ կես տարի անց մասնագետներին չի հաջողվում հեշտությամբ հայտնաբերել հիվանդության որևէ նշան չունեցող, բայց վարակն աննկատ տարածողներին, հետևաբար՝ բարդանում է վարակի տարածումը զսպելը:

Իտալիայի շրջաններից մեկում՝ Վենետո մարզի Վո կոմունայում մի քանի շաբաթ տևած կարանտինի ընթացում Լոնդոնի Թագավորական քոլեջի և Պադովայի համալսարանի գիտնականները համատեղ հետազոտություն են անցկացրել ոչ մեծաթիվ բնակչության շրջանում` արդյունքները հրապարակելով Nature պարբերականում: 3,2 հազար բնակչություն ունեցող ավանում է հենց փետրվարի 21-ին արձանագրվել Իտալիայում կորոնավիրուսի հետևանքով մահվան առաջին դեպքը, որին հաջորդել է երկշաբաթյա կարանտինը: Այդ ընթացքում գիտնականները թեստավորել են տեղի գրեթե բոլոր բնակիչներին և պարզել, որ վարակակիրների մոտ 40 տոկոսը կորոնավիրուսի որևէ ախտանիշ չունի: Ուշագրավ է, որ այդ թիվը համընկնում է Հոնկոնգում, Սինգապուրում և Չինաստանում ավելի վաղ անցկացված ուսումնասիրությունների արդյունքներին, որոնց համաձայն` վարակակիրների 30-ից մինչև 60 տոկոսի մոտ հիվանդությունն անցնում է առանց դրան բնորոշ դրսևորումների:

Վոյում կարանտինի առաջին օրերին վարակված է եղել 73 մարդ, երկու շաբաթ հետո ընդամենը 29 վարակակիր է եղել։ Երկու դեպքում էլ հաստատված վարակակիրների մոտ 40 տոկոսը չեն ունեցել սիմպտոմներ։ Ըստ հետազոտողների, հայտնաբերված բոլոր վարակակիրները՝ սիմպտոմով թե ասիմպտոմ, մեկուսացվել են, ինչն էլ նպաստել է հիվանդության տարածումը կանխելուն:

«Չնայած վարակի աննկատ տարածմանը՝ այն հնարավոր է վերահսկել», - պնդում է Պադովայի համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր, հոդվածի համահեղինակ Անդրեա Քրիսանտին: - «Մեր հետազոտությունն ապացուցում է, որ եթե թեստավորվեն բոլոր քաղաքացիները, անկախ այն հանգամանքից՝ ունեն ախտանիշ, թե ոչ, հնարավոր է զսպել հիվանդության տարածումն ու վերահսկել իրավիճակը»։

Շաբաթներ առաջ տարբեր երկրների առողջապահական կառույցներ իրենց հաղորդագրություններում նվազեցրել էին ասիմպտոմ վարակակիրների կողմից հիվանդության տարածման ռիսկը, ինչը քննադատության ալիք էր բարձրացրել գիտական հանրության շրջանում: Իտալական հետազոտության համաձայն, այսպես կոչված վարակային ծանրաբեռնվածությունը , այսինքն՝ մարդու օրգանիզմում վարակի մասնիկների ընդհանուր քանակը, ասիմպտոմ հիվանդների մոտ նույնքան է, որքան մյուս հիվանդների մոտ: Հետևաբար, ասիմպտոմ վարակակիրները կարող են նույն ձևով տարածել վարակը՝ հատկապես դիմակների բացակայության պայմաններում։
