Tesla пыталась скрыть данные о ДТП с участием беспилотных автомобилей

Корпорация Tesla через суд просила не раскрывать подробную информацию о ДТП с участием фирменных беспилотных автомобилей. Об этом сообщает Reuters.

Компания обратилась в суд, чтобы запретить Национальной администрации безопасности дорожного движения Соединенных Штатов (NHTSA) публиковать определенные данные о дорожно-транспортных происшествиях с участием автомобилей Tesla. Журналисты отметили, что корпорацию интересует, чтобы информация об авариях с участием беспилотников не была раскрыта.

В 2024 году газета Washington Post подала иск против NHTSA, пытаясь тем самым заставить ведомство раскрывать данные об авариях с участием машин на автопилоте. В организации заявили, что эта информация не является публичной. Reuters отмечает, что теперь в суд обратилась и Tesla, компания уверяет, что раскрытие этих данных может навредить владельцам машин.

Reuters указывает, что Tesla использует лазейки в законе, чтобы максимально скрыть данные о ДТП со своими машинами. Агентство обратило внимание на то, что компанией активно рекламируется технология автопилота, но при этом Tesla заявляет, что водитель все равно должен держать руки на руле во время движения автомобиля.

До этого в пресс-службе NHTSA сообщили, что Tesla отзывает 172 автомобиля Model Y из-за проблем с системой омывания лобового стекла.
