Քեմբրիջի համալսարանի գիտնականներն Արեգակնային համակարգից դուրս կյանքի «նշաններ» են հայտնաբերել: Նրանց հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են Astrophysical Journal-ում, գրում է Daily Mail-ը։

Օգտագործելով «Ջեյմս Ուեբ» գերհզոր տիեզերական աստղադիտակի փոխանցած տվյալները՝ Քեմբրիջի համալսարանի աստղագետներն էկզոմոլորակի մթնոլորտում հայտնաբերել են դիմեթիլ սուլֆիդի (DMS) և դիմեթիլ դիսուլֆիդի (DMDS) քիմիական հետքեր. սրանք մոլեկուլներ են, որոնք վկայում են կյանքի առկայությունը: Երկրի վրա այս մոլեկուլները արտադրվում են միայն կենդանի օրգանիզմների, հիմնականում մանրէների կողմից:

Մոլեկուլները հայտնաբերվել են K2-18b էկզոմոլորակի մթնոլորտում, որը գտնվում է Երկրից մոտ 124 լուսային հեռավորության վրա՝ Առյուծ համաստեղությունում։

K2-18b-ը 2,6 անգամ ավելի մեծ է և 8,6 անգամ ավելի զանգվածային, քան Երկիրը, և փորձագետները կարծում են, որ այն ծածկված է օվկիանոսով: Մոլորակի ջերմաստիճանը մոտ է Երկրի ջերմաստիճանին, բայց այն այնքան արագ է պտտվում, որ մեկ տարին այնտեղ տևում է ընդամենը 33 օր:
