«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

 Սխալ է կարծել, թե СОР 29 գագաթաժողովին մասնակցել պատրաստվող հատկապես արևմտյան գերտերություններն ու նրանց ներկայացուցիչները չգիտեն կամ այնքան էլ լավ չգիտեն, թե ուր են մեկնում և ինչ ռեժիմ է իրենց հյուրընկալելու Բաքվում: Իրականում Արևմուտքը հրաշալի գիտի, առավել քան մանրամասն տեղյակ է, թե ով է Ալիևը, ինչ հանցանքներ է գործել ինչպես մարդկության դեմ, այնպես էլ՝ իր կառավարման ներքո գտնվողների նկատմամբ, ինչ աստիճանի է կոռումպացված և այլն: Արևմուտքում հրաշալի տեղյակ են, որ Ադրբեջանում ժողովրդավարության նշույլ անգամ չկա, ու որ դա դասականից էլ վատթար բռնատիրական, դինաստիական կառավարման տակ դրված պետություն է: Այն, որ առնվազն արևմտյան տերություններում այդ ամենին շատ լավ տեղյակ են, կարելի է հիմնավորել բազմաթիվ դրսևորումներով:
 
Բայց այս դեպքում խոսքը հետաքննող լրագրողների OCCRP միավորման պատրաստած հրապարակում-բացահայտումների մասին է: Մարդիկ մանրակրկիտ հետաքննություն են արել ու պարզել, որ կոնկրետ СОР 29-ի մասնակիցներին սպասարկող, СОР 29-ի պաշտոնական գործընկերոջ կարգավիճակ ստացած գրեթե բոլոր ընկերություններն ու ձեռնարկությունները անմիջականորեն կամ թեթևակի անուղղակիորեն կապակցված են Իլհամ Ալիևի և նրա ընտանիքի անդամների հետ: Այնպես որ՝ գիտեն: Չնայած հետաքննողների անդրադարձում ոչ մի խոսք չկա Իլհամ Ալիևի ու նրա գլխավորած ռեժիմի կողմից Արցախի հայության դեմ ցեղասպանական ոճիր գործելու՝ էթնիկ զտման ենթարկելու մասին, բայց կարող եք չկասկածել, որ արևմտյան բոլոր գլխավոր մայրաքաղաքներում նստող ղեկավարները, որոնք նման գագաթաժողովների են գնում, մանրամասն տեղյակ են նաև այդ հանցագործություններից:
 
Ու այդ ամենի հետ կապված՝ անխուսափելի հարց է ծագում, թե այդ ամենն իմանալով, ավելին, նման հրապարակումներ ու բացահայտումներ, այսպես ասենք՝ տակից խրախուսելով, այդ ինչպե՞ս է, որ, միևնույնն է, մեկնում են Բաքու՝ հյուրընկալվելու Ալիևին, նրա հետ գրկախառնվելու և... ոչ միայն: Դրա հնարավոր պատասխանն էլ պարզ է. Արևմուտքի համար ադրբեջանական նավթի ու գազի «հոտը» շատ ավելի կարևոր է, քան ինքնորոշման կամ սեփական հողի վրա ապրելու իրավունքները, քան ինչ-որ «դեմոկրատական արժեքներ», ինչ-որ համամարդկային արժեքներ: Արևմուտքի համար միշտ էլ եղել է, կա ու կլինի միայն մեկ արժեք՝ փող, շահ: Վերջ: Մնացած «զրիցները»՝ մարդու իրավունքների, կոռուպցիայի դեմ պայքարի, դեմոկրատական արժեքների մասին, կներեք, ընդամենը միամիտ-դյուրահավատներին «ֆռռացնելու» և «քցելու» գործիքներ են:
 
Ավելին, Արևմուտքում գիտեն, որ Ադրբեջանն այդքան գազ չունի ու իրենց իրականում վերավաճառում է Ռուսաստանի գազը, որից իրենք, իբր, հրաժարվել են: Բայց այնպես են ձևացնում, թե չգիտեն դրա մասին: Այնպես որ, գազի հոտն ուժեղ է, բայց դրանից էլ ավելի ուժեղ է Արևմուտքի կամ «քաղաքակիրթ աշխարհի» ցինիզմը: Ուղղակի անգերազանցելի ցինիզմը:
