Ավանդական կարատեի Հայաստանի հավաքականը 13 մեդալ է նվաճել հոկտեմբերի 7-14-ը Պորտուգալիայում կայացած ITKF-ի աշխարհի 22-րդ առաջնությունում։

Ֆեդերացիայի նախագահ Սուրեն Մաթևոսյանի գլխավորած հավաքականը նվաճել է 5 ոսկե, 6 արծաթե և 2 բրոնզե մեդալ անհատական ու թիմային մրցումներում:

Մեծահասակների պայքարում հավասարը չեն ունեցել Նարեկ Իսկանդարյանը, Արթուր Ոսկանյանը և Հովհաննես Հակոբյանը, որոնք թիմային կատա մրցաձևում դարձել են աշխարհի չեմպիոն։ Ի դեպ, Նարեկ Իսկանդարյանը կարիերայում երկրորդ անգամ նվաճեց աշխարհի չեմպիոնի տիտղոսը։

18-20 տարեկանների խմբում անհատական կատա մրցաձևում Էրիկ Հովսեփյանը դարձել է բրոնզե մեդալակիր:

16-17 տարեկանների խմբում անհատական կումիտե մրցաձևում աշխարհի չեմպիոնի կոչումը նվաճել է Շահեն Առաքելյանը, իսկ Տիգրան Աբրահամյանը դարձել է փոխչեմպիոն։

14-15 տարեկանների խմբում անհատական ֆուկու-գո մրցաձևում Դավիթ Կոջամանյանը դարձել է փոխչեմպիոն, իսկ նույն տարիքային խմբում՝ անհատական կատա մրցաձևում Գագիկ Հովհաննիսյանը նվաճել է բրոնզե մեդալ:

Տիգրան Աբրահամյանը 16-17 տարեկանների խմբում, ֆուկու-գո մրցաձևում հռչակվել է աշխարհի չեմպիոն, Շահեն Առաքելյանը՝ փոխչեմպիոն:

16-17 տարեկանների թիմային կատա մրցաձևում Արթուր Խաչատրյանը, Տիգրան Աբրահամյանը և Դավիթ Կոջամանյանը արժանացել են արծաթե մեդալի։
Հայաստանի հավաքականը 13 մեդալով 5-րդ տեղն է գրավել 40 պետությունների շարքում:

Աշխարհի առաջնությունից առաջ կայացել է նաև Եվրոպայի մինչև 14 տարեկանների գավաթի խաղարկությունը։ Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչներից Եվրոպայի գավաթակիր են դարձել Արթուր Ալեքսանյանը, Միքայել Հարությունյանը, Նարեկ Ջանիբեկյանն ու Աշոտ Երիցյանը։ Հարությունյանը, Ջանիբեկյանն ու Երիցյանը նվաճել են նաև արծաթե մեդալ։
