Էներգետիկ ոլորտում համաշխարհային ներդրումներն առաջին անգամ պատմության մեջ կգերազանցեն 3 տրիլիոն դոլարը։

Միջազգային էներգետիկ գործակալության վերլուծաբանների կանխատեսումների համաձայն՝ այդ գումարի երկու երրորդը բաժին է հասնում էներգիայի վերկանգնող աղբյուրներին։

Ներդրումների ծավալով առաջատարը Չինաստանն է, որտեղ հիմնականում զարգացնում են արևային էներգետիկան։ Բացի այդ Չինաստանն ավելացնում է մարտկոցների արտադրությունը, բայց տարածաշրջանային առումով Ասիան ընդհանուր առմամբ դեռևս ետ է մնում Արևմուտքից։ Մասնավորապես Մերձավոր Արևելքի և Հարավարևելյան Ասիայի երկրներում դեռևս շարունակում են կախված լինել արդյունահանվող վառելիքից։

Ըստ փորձագետների՝ նավթի օգտագործման պիկը դեռևս չի անցել, իսկ արաբական երկրներում արտադրվող նավթը, ինչպես և Ռուսաստանում արտադրվող նավթը, գազը և ածուխը, դեռ երկար ժամանակ տոն են տալու համաշխարհային քաղաքականության մեջ։

Աֆրիկան, թեև ամենալավ դիրքերում կարող է լինել արևային էներգիայի արտադրության առումով, հաշվի առնելով նրա կլիմայական և անապատային պայմանները, դեռևս զիջում է բոլոր մյուս մայրցամաքներին, միայն Եվրոպան և Ամերիկան են, որ արևային էներգիայի օգտագործման առումով դուրս են գալիս առաջատար դիրքեր։

Հայաստանն արևային վահանակներ արտադրող մեկ ընկերություն ունի՝ «Սոլարոնը»։
