Հայկական ատոմակայանին հարվածելու Ադրբեջանի սպառնալից հայտարարություններն անտարբեր չեն թողել նաև հեղինակավոր Forbes-ին, ամսագիրը նկատել է` «Ադրբեջանը կովկասյան դրոնային պատերազմում սպառնում է Չեռնոբիլի ոճով «աղետով»: «Արմենպրես»-ի հաղորդմամբ՝ հոդվածագիր Դեյվիդ Համբլինգը նշել է, որ Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև կոնֆլիկտը կրկին վերածվել է բաց պատերազմի: Երկու կողմերն էլ օգտագործել են անօդաչու թռչող սարքեր, սակայն Ադրբեջանը հիմա սպառնում է օգտագործել իր հնարավորությունները՝ հարվածելու Հայաստանին միակ ատոմակայանին:

Forbes-ը նկատել է, որ առավել մտահոգիչ զարգացումը Ադրբեջանի ՊՆ խոսնակ Վագիֆ Դարգյախլիի կողմից արված միջուկային «աղետի» սպառնալիքն է: Դարգյախլին հայտարարել է, որ իրենց զենքերը «ունակ են բարձր ճշգրտությամբ հարվածելու Մեծամորի ատոմակայանին, ինչը Հայաստանի համար կվերածվի մեծ աղետի»:

Հեղինակը նշել է, որ Մեծամորի ատոմակայանը կառուցվել է 1970-ականներին, հենց այդ ժամանակ է կառուցվել նաև Չեռնոբիլի ատոմակայանը։

Հոդվածագիրը նկատել է, որ այս սպառնալիքն արվել է Հայաստանի կողմից ենթադրյալ սպառնալիքից հետո, թե իբր կհարվածի Մինգեչաուրի ջրամբարին: «Հայաստանը հերքում է նման սպառնալիքը՝ ասելով, որ երբեք չեն հարվածում քաղաքացիական թիրախներին և չեն սպառնացել հարվածել ջրամբարին»,-գրել է հոդվածագիրն ու նկատել՝ մինչդեռ, ինչպես Դարգյախին է նշել, Ադրբեջանը տիրապետում է մի շարք բալիստիկ հրթիռների:
