Նոյեմբերի 8-ը նշվում է որպես ռադիոլոգիայի համաշխարհային օր, քանի որ տարիներ առաջ՝ 1895 թ.-ին, հենց այս օրը հայտնագործվեց ռենտգենյան ճառագայթումը:

Ռադիոլոգը բժիշկ է, որը համապատասխան բժշկական պատկերների միջոցով հետազոտում է գրեթե բոլոր օրգանները: Ռադիոլոգիայի հիմնական մասնագիտացումները հետևյալն են՝

Ախտորոշիչ ռադիոլոգիա

Ախտորոշիչ ռադիոլոգները օգտագործում են բժշկական սարքավորումների միջոցով ստացված պատկերները տարատեսակ հիվանդությունների ախտորոշման նպատակով: Նրանք կարող են օգտագործել այդ պատկերների ստացման տարբեր մեթոդներ, ինչպես օրինակ՝

ռենտգենյան ճառագայթներ,
ռադիոնուկլիդներ,
ուլտրաձայներ,
էլեկտրամագնիսական ճառագայթում:
Ինտերվենցիոն ռադիոլոգիա

Ներկայումս ինտերվենցիոն ռադիոլոգիան լայն տարածում ունի ամբողջ աշխարհում: Իսկ այդ ամենը շնորհիվ մի քանի կարևոր առանձնահատկությունների, մասնավորապես այն իրականացվում է նվազագույն ինվազիվ միջամտություններով, ինչի շնորհիվ հիվանդն ավելի արագ է ապաքինվում և առավելագույնս քիչ ժամանակ է անցկացնում բուժհաստատությունում:

Ինտերվենցիոն ռադիոլոգիայի շնորհիվ հնարավոր է իրականացնել ասեղային բիոպսիա տարբեր օրգանային տեղակայման, ինչպես նաև արտաօրգանային տեղակայման ուռուցքային գոյացությունների դեպքում, չարորակ բնույթի ուռուցքային օջախների ոչնչացում ռադիոհաճախային աբլյացիայի մեթոդով, վահանաձև գեղձի հանգույցների պունկցիոն բիոպսիա, վահանձև գեղձի կիստաների պունկցիոն էթանոլային բուժում և այլն:

Ճառագայթային ուռուցքաբանություն

Ճառագայթային թերապիան օգտագործվում է ուռուցքային և որոշ ոչ ուռուցքային հիվանդությունների բուժման նպատակով:

Մի շարք դեպքերում ճառագայթային բուժումը կարող է լինել բուժման հիմնական կամ միակ եղանակը: Սա վերաբերում է, օրինակ, գլխի, պարանոցի, կերակրափողի, արգանդի վզիկի քաղցկեղի բուժմանը: Որոշ դեպքերում էլ այն օժանդակ միջոց է՝ զուգակցված բուժման այլ տարբերակների հետ կամ էլ նպատակ ունենալով երկարացնել հիվանդի կյանքը և բարելավել կյանքի որակը:

Ներկայումս ռադիոլոգիան ժամանակակից բժշկության անբաժանելի մասն է կազմում՝ հանդիսանալով մի շարք հիվանդությունների ախտորոշման և բուժման հիմքը:
