Աշխարհում նավթի պահանջարկի առավելագույն մակարդակը կգերազանցվի, կանցնի արդեն մինչև 2030 թվականը, այդ մասին հատարարել է միջազգային էներգետիկ գործակալության գործադիր տնօրեն Ֆատիհ Բիրոլը ֆրանսիական «Լը մոնդ» թերթին տված հարցազրույցում։ Նրա խոքով՝ նավթի համաշխարհային պահանջարկն առաջիկա տարիներին լրջորեն չի աճի, պատճառը՝ կանաչ էներգետիկայի անցումն է։

Բիրոլը հանդես է եկել այլընտրանքային էներգետիկ զարգացման օգտին, նրա խոսքով՝ մասնավորապես Աֆրիկայի երկրները կարող են ապահովել էլեկտրականության իրենց կարիքների 95 %-ը վերականգնվող աղբյուրների շնորհիվ՝ օգտագործելով արևի, քամու և ջրի ուժը։ Գործակալության տնօրենը նշել է, թե արևային էներգիան ամենաքիչ ծախսատարն է, այդ թվում, և առավելապես, Աֆրիկայում։ Այդուհանդերձ, ըստ Բիրոլի, աֆրիկյան երկրներում արևային էներգիան բավարար ակտիվորեն չի օգտագործվում։

Մայրցամաքում, որտեղ մեկ միլիարդից ավելի մարդ է բնակվում, արևային էներգիայի արտադրությունը կրկնակի պակաս է, քան միայն Նիդերլանդների տարածքում։ Աֆրիկայի տարածքում արևային էներգետիկայի զարգացումը պահանջում է ներդրումներ տարեկան 23 միլիարդ դոլարի չափով։ Միջազգային էներգետիկ գործակալության նախաձեռնությամբ և ՄԱԿ-ի հովանավորությամբ, այս օրերին Քենիայի մայրաքաղաք Նայրոբիում մեծ միջազգային համաժողով է ընթանում, որին ելույթ է ունեցել նաև ՄԱԿ գլխավոր անդամ Անտոնիո Գուտերեշը։ Հատկապես ընդգծել են աղքատ աֆրիկյան երկրներին ենթակառուցվածքներ տրամադրելու, նրանց հորդորելու արևային էներգիան զարգացնելու հարցը։

Ավանդաբար արևոտ ավելի շատ օրեր ունեցող Աֆրիկան, զգալի զիջում է նույնիսկ Հյուսիսային Եվրոպայի ցուրտ և ամպամած երկրներին, ուստի հարկավոր է լրջորեն մտածել սև մայրցամաքի վերաբերյալ։
