Սեպտեմբերի առաջին և երկրորդ տասնօրյակում հանրապետության եղանակակլիմայական պայմանների ձևավորման վրա դեռևս շարունակում են ազդել արևադարձային լայնություններից ներթափանցող տաք և չոր օդային զանգվածները, իսկ երրորդ տասնօրյակից սկսած դրանց ներթափանցման դեպքերի թիվը աստիճանաբար նվազում է։
Ամռան ավարտը կլիմայական բնութագրմամբ համարվում է այն ժամանակը, երբ օդի օրական միջին ջերմաստիճանն իջնում է 15°С ցածր: 

Հանրապետությունում այդ անցումը սեպտեմբերին սկսվում է լեռնային շրջաններից, ամսվա երրորդ տասնօրյակում տարածվում նախալեռնային գոտիների վրա, իսկ հովտային գոտիներում այս ամսին դա տեղի չի ունենում, այնպես որ, տաք շրջաններում սեպտեմբերին դեռևս շարունակվում է եղանակային պայմանների ամառային ռեժիմը, իսկ լեռնային շրջաններում սկսվում է աշունը:

Սեպտեմբերին հատկապես Արաբական թերակղզու շրջաններից արևադարձային տաք օդային զանգվածների ներթափանցման դեպքում բացարձակ առավելագույն ջերմաստիճանը Արարատյան դաշտում և Սյունիքի հովտային գոտում դեռևս կարող է հասնել +39...+40°С, նախալեռնային շրջաններում՝ +35...+38°С, լեռնային շրջաններում՝ +30...+32°С:
Վերջին անգամ Երևանում սեպտեմբերի +39․․․+40°С աստիճան տաքություն գրանցվել է 2017թ-ին, իսկ 2021թ-ի սեպտեմբերին 2-ին Մեղրիում օդի ջերմաստիճանը հասել է +41°С։
Օդում առաջին ցրտահարությունը մեծ մասամբ դիտվում է լեռնային շրջաններում սեպտեմբերի վերջին, սակայն առանձին տարիներին, այն կարող է դիտվել նույնիսկ ամսվա առաջին կեսին: 
Երևանում սեպտեմբերը համարվում է տարվա մեջ ամենաբարեհաճ ամիսը՝ առաջին տասնօրյակում օդի օրական միջին ջերմաստիճանը +22...+23°С է, երկրորդում՝ +20°С և երրորդում՝ +18...+19°С: 

Արկտիկական ցուրտ օդային հոսանքների ներխուժմամաբ պայմանավորված, հատկապես սեպտեմբերի երրորդ տասնօրյակում հանրապետության լեռնային և նախալեռնային գոտիներում կարող են արդեն դիտվել բացասական ջերմաստիճաններ, իսկ բարձրլեռնային գոտիներում նույնիսկ ձյան տեսքով տեղումներ։ 1997թ-ի սեպտեմբերի 5-ին արկտիկական մթնոլորտային ճակատի ներխուժումից հետո լեռնային մարզերում գիշերային ժամերին ջերմաստիճանը նվազել է -2․․․-4°С։

Հանրապետության տարածքում տեղումները բաշխվում են անհավասարաչափ, միջինը դիտվում են 33մմ, Արարատյան դաշտում, Վայոց ձորում և Սյունիքի  հովիտներում` 6-10մմ, Լոռիում` 50-60մմ, Սյունիքի նախալեռներում`60-65մմ:
