Օդերևութաբանության համաշխարհային կազմակերպության նոր զեկույցի համաձայն, էներգիայի ոչ թանկ, ժամանակակից և վերականգնվող աղբյուրների մատչելիությունը ոչ միայն կբարձրացնի էներգետիկ անվտանգությունն աշխարհում, այլ նաև թույլ կտա զսպել գլոբալ տաքացումը։ Զեկույցի հեղինակները կարծում են, թե բնության ամենաբացասական հետևանքները կանխելու համար հարկավոր է հնարավորինս խուսափել արդյունահանվող էներգառեսուրսներով էլեկտրաէներգիա ստանալու ծրագրերից և անցնել արևային և այլ վերականգնվող էներգիայի օգտագործմանը։

Համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը նշում է, թե հաջորդ 8 տարիների ընթացքում արևային էներգիայի արդյունահանումն անհրաժեշտ է կրկնապատկել՝ համաշխարհային մասշտաբով խնդիրներից խուսափելու համար։ Կազմակերպության գլխավոր քարտուղար Պիտեր Տալասը հիշեցրել է. «Մինչև 2050 թվականը արտանետումների զրոյական մակարդակի հասնելու գերտերությունների հավակնոտ ծրագրի մասին, սակայն մենք կհասնենք դրան միայն այն դեպքում, եթե հաջորդող տարիներին կարողանանք ավելացնել վերականգնվող էլեկտրաէներգիայի կայանների թիվը, միայն այդ դեպքում մեր մոլորակը չի բախվի լրջագույն խնդիրների»,- ասել է նա։ Այդ կապակցությամբ նա կոչ է արել հատկապես օգտագործել աֆրիկյան երկրների պոտենցիալը, որոնք կարող են դառնալ ամենախոշոր խաղացողներն էներգետիկ շուկայում։

Աֆրիկայում են կենտրոնացված աշխարհի արևային ռեսուրսների 60 տոկոսը, մինչդեռ նրան բաժին է հասնում ֆոտո էլեկտրական հզորությունների ընդամենը 1 տոկոսը, ինչը բնականաբար նոնսենս է, սակայն կախված է նաև ռեսուրսների հետ։ Աֆրիկյան հետամնաց, կամ զարգացող պետությունները չունեն այն ռեսուրսները, որ ունեն համաշխարհային և հզոր տնտեսությամբ գերտերությունները։  Մինչդեռ, ըստ կազմակերպության, հարկավոր է զարգացնել Աֆրիկայում արևային էներգիայի արտադրությունը։ Իհարկե, Հայաստանը ոչ արևի, ոչ էլ տարածքների առումով չի կարող համեմատվել աֆրիկյան երկրների հետ, սակայն կարող է առնվազն լիուլի բավարարել սեփական կարիքներն արևային վահանակների տեղադրման, արևային էներգիայի արդյունահանման և օգտագործման առումով։ Մեր երկրում կա արևային վահանակներ արտադրող մեկ ընկերություն՝ «Սոլարոնը»։
