ԶՊՄԿ տնօրենի առաջին տեղակալ, Հայաստանի հանքագործների և մետալուրգների միության նախագահ Վարդան Ջհանյանը Երկրաբանի օրվա կապակցությամբ ուղերձ է հղել, որում մասնավորապես ասվում է.

«Հարգելի գործընկերներ, շնորհավորում եմ բոլոր երկրաբաններին եւ մեզ՝ ոլորտի մասնակիցներիս, Երկրաբանի օրվա կապակցությամբ։ Սա միայն երկրաբանների տոնը չէ։ Այս տոնը խորհրդանշում է մարդկության հազարամյա զարգացումը՝ քարե եւ բրոնզե դարից մինչեւ մեր օրերը։ Առաջին երկրաբանները քարը հողից հանած եւ աշխատանքային գործիք սարքած մարդիկ էին։ Հետո արդեն հայտնվեցին կավը, մետաղը, թանկարժեք քարերը։ Առանց երկրաբանության չկա հանքարդյունաբերություն, իսկ առանց հանքարդյունաբերության չէր կարող լինել ժամանակակից աշխարհը, որը մեզ շրջապատում է։

Երկրաբանությունը դարեր շարունակ ներկա է եղել հայ մարդու մասնագիտություների շարքում՝ քարե դարից ի վեր հայը փնտրել եւ գտել է հողի տակ թաքնված բարիքը եւ ծառայեցրել այն զարգացմանը։ Հայկական խորհրդային երկրաբանական դպրոցը համարվում էր ամենաուժեղներից մեկը։ Հանքարդյունաբերությունը Հայաստանում զարգացած էր ոչ միայն որովհետեւ հողը մեզ տվել էր բարիք, այլեւ որովհետեւ մեր երկրաբանները արել էին խորհդային տարիների ամենակարեւոր երկրաբանական հայտնագործություներից մի քանիսը։

Այսօր երկրաբանությունը, ցավոք, մեր ուժեղ կողմերից չէ՝ ոչ մեր մասնագետների մեղքով։ Երկրաբանական ներդրումները շուկայական տնտեսությունում համարվում են ամենառիսկայինը։ Տարբեր հաշվարկներով 1000 հետախուզական նախաձեռնություններից միայն մեկն է դառնում հանք։ Իսկ դա նշանակում է, որ երկրաբանական աշխատանքների մեջ ներդրված գումարի զգալի մասը այդպես էլ ներդրողին օգուտ չի բերում։ Հետեւաբար, մենք պետք է լրացուցիչ ջանքեր դնենք երկրաբանական ներդրումներ Հայաստան բերելու համար։ Այսօր, երբ ողջ աշխարհը փող է ներդնում վերականգնվող էներգիայի եւ էլէկտրական մեքենաների համար անհրաժեշտ մետաղների որոնման համար, այդ գումարները գնում են այն երկրներ, որոնք համարվում են երկրաբանական ներդրումների տեսանկյունից կանխատեսելի եւ կայուն։ Քչերը գիտեն, որ աշխարհի երկրաբանական ներդրումների միայն 2 տոկոսն է բաժին ընկնում հետխորհրդային երկրներին (չհաշված՝ Ռուսաստանը), հենց վերը բերված պատճառներով։ Երկրաբանական ներդրումներն արվում են Կանադայում, Շվեդիայում, Ֆինլանդիայում, այլ եվրոպական երկրներում ու նույնիսկ մեր հարեւան երկրներում։ Մենք չենք կարող մեզ թույլ տալ դուրս մնալ այս մրցակցությունից։

Մենք պետք է հնարավորություն տանք մեր երկրաբաններին, երկրաբանների երիտասարդ սերունդին նորից ապացուցել այս գիտության կարեւորությունը երկրի ապագայի համար։ Վստահ եմ, որ հաջողելու ենք՝ բոլորիս համատեղ ջանեքերով»։

Հիշեցնենք, որ Երկրաբանի օրը պաշտոնապես նշվելու է գալիք կիրակի օրը։
