Միացյալ Նահանգներում գիտնականները հայտարարել են էներգիայի ոլորտում աննախադեպ առաջընթացի մասին։ Եվ եթե այս տեղեկությունը իրավամբ համապատասխանում է իրականությանը, ապա կարելի է փաստել, որ այն լրջագույն հետևանքներ է ունենալու թե՛ էներգետիկ ոլորտի, թե՛ տնտեսության և թե՛ քաղաքականության վրա ընդհանրապես։ Կալիֆորնիայի Լոուրես Լիվերմոռի ազգային լաբարատորյայի գիտնականները, փորձելով ստանալ մաքուր էներգիա, կարողացել են ներդրածից ավելի շատ էներգիա ստանալ միջուկային միաձուլման ռեակցիայից։

Ջերմամիջուկային կառավարվող սինթեզի միջոցով հնարավոր է եղել ավելի շատ էներգիա, քան պահանջվել է այդ էներգիան ստեղծելու համար։ Սա շատ կարևոր քայլ է, քանի որ երկրները փորձում են նվազեցնել հանածո վառելիքի օգտագործումը, որը ածխաթթու գազի արտանետումների, հետևաբար նաև կլիմայի փոփոխության հիմնական պատճառներից է։ Հատկապես աշխարհում վերջին մեկ տարվա ընթացքում առաջացած էներգետիկ ճգնաժամն ավելի է մեծացրել այլընտրանքային էներգիայի պահանջը և, ըստ «Ֆայնենշլ թայմսի» տվյալների՝ ամերիկյան գիտնականների այս հայտնագործությունը կարող է խթանել ատոմային էներգիայի նոր որակ՝ ավելի անվտանգ և ավելի քիչ ծախսատար և ավելի մեծ հնարավորություններվ։

Եվ իհարկե այս հանգամանքը Միացյալ նահանգներին միանգամից կկարողանա դուրս բերել աշխարհում էներգիայի արտադրության ոլորտի առաջատարի դիրքերին առաջիկա մի քանի տասնամյակների համար։ Ընդսմին, ողջ աշխարհը գնում է հանածո վառելիքից հրաժարվելու ճանապարհով։ Հայաստանը ևս ունի այդ խնդիրը, հնարավորինս ավելացնել այլընտրանքային էներգիայի աղբյուրները, թե ՛ միջուկային և թե՛ արևից ու քամուց ստացված էներգիայի աղբյուրները։ Եթե ատոմային էներգիայի հետ ամեն ինչ հստակ է, Մեծամորի ատոմակայանը շարունակում է գործել, իսկ իշխանությունները հայտարարել են նոր ատոմակայան կառուցելու մտադրությունների մասին, ապա արևային և քամու արտադրության ոլորտում մեր երկիրը զգալիորեն հետ է մնում։

Հայաստանում արևային վահանակներ արտադրող ընդամենը մեկ ընկերություն կա՝ «Սոլարոնը», իսկ քամու ուժով աշխատող էլեկտրակայաններ ընդհանրապես չկան։ Ուստի, մեր երկրի իշխանությունների թիվ մեկ պարտականությունն է հնարավորինս ավելացնել այլընտրանքային էներգիայի աղբյուրները։
