Արքեպիսկոպոս Սերովպե Իսախանյանն իր ֆեյսբուքյան էջում գրել է. 

«Այսօր աչքիս ընկավ, որ մի նորելուկ բողոքական քարոզիչ այս օրերին կրկին զառանցել է Տեառնընդառաջի, հայկական Տերնտեսի, տերնտեսի խարույկի մասին եւ սկսել անեծք ու լուտանք թափել մեր ժողովրդի գլխին, կրակն ու խարույկը անեծք համարել, մեր գլխին եկած երկրաշարժն անգամ այդ կրակի պատճառով Աստծո պատիժը համարել եւ այլն։

Երբեմն դժվար է, շատ դժվար է, համբերել, որպեսզի չասես՝ այ չորքոտանի, Հայ Եկեղեցին ու նրա հետեւորդ հայ մարդը կրակին չեն հավատում, չեն երկրպագում, կրակին Աստված չեն համարում։ Քանի՞ անգամ կարելի է սա կրկնել, որ ձեր քառակուսի գլուխները հասկանան սա։ Բավ է, պղտոր ջրում ձուկ որսաք։ Ամոթ ու աբուռ ունեցեք։ Մի՛ խաբեք ժողովրդին։ Մի՛ դարձրեք նրան անգույն ու անդեմ։ Մի՛ փորձեք կտրել նրանց իրենց արմատներից ու ավանդություններից։
 
Մի՛ փորձեք թացն ու չորը իրար խառնելով մրոտել մեր Եկեղեցին։ Հայ Եկեղեցին իր էությամբ ու բովանդակությամբ լիությամբ քրիստոնեական է, իր ուսմունքն ու վարդապետությունը հիմնված են Սուրբ Գրքի` Աստվածաշունչ Սուրբ Մատյանի հաստատուն հիմքի վրա:
Բայց մեր Եկեղեցին նաեւ ժողովրդի ծոցից ելած ու ժողովրդի մեջ գործած ու ծառայած Եկեղեցի է եւ իր մեջ պահել ու խնամել է նաեւ շատ ու շատ ազգային սովորություններ ու ավանդություններ:
 
Եւ լա՛վ է արել, շա՛տ լավ է արել։ (Այս տողը բոլոր նրանց համար, ովքեր քննադատում են Հայ Եկեղեցու սովորություններն ու ավանդութիւնները, որոնք նախաքրիստոնեական ծագում ունեն)։ Ինչու պիտի չպահեր, չէ որ այդ ավանդությունները մեր գույնն են ու համը, մեր ինքնությունը, մեր արմատն ու հիշողությունը: Մեր պատմությունն են, որը հստակ է, որ չի սկսել քրիստոնեությամբ: Քրիստոնեա դառնալով հայը չի դադարել հայ լինելուց, նախաքրիստոնեական պատմություն ու ինքնություն ունենալուց, չի ուրացել ինքն իրեն:
 
Մենք հին ժողովուրդ ենք, մինչեւ արարչագործության նախաժամանակները հասնող խորը արմատներ ունենք: Եւ այո´, մենք կայինք նաեւ քրիստոնեությունից առաջ եւ հպարտանում ենք դեպի հազարամյակների խորքը գնացող մեր պատմությամբ, «հին-հին դարերից» եկող մեր մշակույթով, ավանդությամբ ու սովորություններով: Ցավոք, դրանցից շատ-շատերը մոռացվել են, վերացել են։ Մի քանի փոքրիկ պատառիկ, փառք Աստուծո, մեր եկեղեցին պահել ու սերունդներին է փոխանցել եւ այսօր էլ փոխանցում է հաջորդ սերունդներին։ Ի՞նչ եք պարազիտի նման փորձում սեւացնել դրանք։ Դրանք ոչ թե անեծք են, այլ օրհնություն, որքան էլ դուք հակառակը բարբաջեք։ Մաղթում եմ, որ ազգաբույր սովորություններն ու ավանդությունները միշտ վառ մնան մեր ժողովրդի զավակների մեջ եւ փոխանցվեն սերնդե-սերունդ»:
