Հայաստանում  16 տարեկանից բարձր բնակչության 27,9 տոկոսը ծխում է, ծխողների գերակշռող մասը տղամարդիկ են (51 տոկոս) և յուրաքանչյուր երկրորդ տղամարդ ծխող է: Կառավարության նիստին այս մասին հայտնեց Առողջապահության նախարար անահիտ Ավանեսյանը՝ հիշեցնելով, որ 2022 թվականի հունվարի 1-ից ուժի մեջ են մտել դեռևս 2020 թվականի փետրվարի 13-ին ընդունված «Ծխախոտային արտադրատեսակների և դրանց փոխարինիչների օգտագործման հետևանքով առողջությանը հասցվող վնասի նվազեցման և կանխարգելման մասին» օրենքի դրույթները:

Նախարարը նշեց, որ այս քայլը շատ կարևոր խթան կհանդիսանա բնակչության շրջանում ոչ վարակիչ հիվանդությունների նվազեցման ուղղությամբ. «Մեր քաղաքականությունն է հնարավորինս նպաստել ծխախոտի օգտագործման նվազեցմանը և այդ օգտագործման արդյունքում առողջությանը պատճառված վնասների կանխմանը: 2020 թվականին ընդունվեց ծխախոտային արտադրատեսակների և դրանց փոխարինիչների օգտագործման հետևանքով առողջությանը հասցվող վնասի նվազեցման և կանխարգելման օրենքը, որը որոշ դրույթներով 2021 թվականից կյանքի է կոչվել, բայց ,իհարկե, հնարավորություն և ժամանակ է տրվել տնտեսվարողներին իրենց գործունեությունը այնպես դասավորել, որպեսզի հնարավորինս նվազ վնասներով ունենանք այսօրվա դրույթների կիրառումը»,- ասաց Ավանեսյանը:

Նախարարը հիշեցրեց, որ 2022 թվականի հունվարի 1-ից ուժի մեջ են մտել դեռևս 2020 թվականի փետրվարի 13-ին ընդունված «Ծխախոտային արտադրատեսակների և դրանց փոխարինիչների օգտագործման հետևանքով առողջությանը հասցվող վնասի նվազեցման և կանխարգելման մասին օրենքի մի շարք կարևոր դրույթներ: Ըստ այդ դրույթների՝ արգելված են ծխախոտային որևէ արտադրատեսակի՝ ավանդական ծխախոտի, էլեկտրոնային (տաքացվող) ծխախոտի, հեղուկների հիմքի վրա նիկոտինային արտադրատեսակի (վեյպ), նիկոտինի մատակարարման էլեկտրոնային սարքերի հրապարակային ցուցադրությունը վաճառքի կետերում և հանրային սննդի օբյեկտներում:

«Սա կնպաստի, որ գովազդի ազդեցության շնորհիվ նաև մեր երիտասարդների շրջանում ծխախոտի օգտագործումը նվազի»,- հավելեց Ավանեսյանը:

Ավանեսյանի խոսքով` Հայաստանում սրտանոթային հիվանդությունների, քաղցկեղի տարածվածությունը հուշում է, որ այս առումով պայքարը հետևողականորեն տանելու ուղղությամբ ամեն ինչ պետք է անեն:

ՀՀ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն էլ ընդգծեց, որ այս կարգավորմամբ առօրյայում ծխախոտ, ծխախոտի տուփ վաճառքի կետերում, խանութներում չպետք է տեսնեն:

«Այսինքն` ծխախոտի տուփը մեզ համար հանրային կյանքում վերանում է: Կոմերցիոն տարածքներում ծխախոտի տուփի հետ չպետք է առնչվենք»,-եզրափակեց վարչապետը:
