Չնայած մի քանի օրից կմեկնարկի ութերորդ գումարման խորհրդարանի առաջին նստաշրջանը, որի ընթացքում պետք է ընտրվի խորհրդարանի ղեկավար կազմը, սակայն խորհրդարան անցած ընդդիմադիրները համաձայնության չեն կարողանում գալ խորհրդարանի երրորդ փոխխոսնակի հարցում։ Ընդ որում՝ խնդիրը դաշինքների կազմի ուժերի միջեւ է, որտեղ թեժ մարտեր են գնում, որ հենց իրենց ներկայացուցիչը զբաղեցնի այդ պաշտոնը։

«Հայաստան» դաշինքում, օրինակ, դաշնակցականներն ամեն ինչ անում են, որ թեկնածու առաջադրեն Իշխան Սաղաթելյանին։ Նրանց փաստարկն այն է, որ Սաղաթելյանը շարժման սիմվոլն է, եւ նրա կերպարի շնորհիվ է, որ փողոցի պայքարն արդյունք տվեց, ու իշխանությունները գնացին ընտրությունների։

Վահե Հակոբյանն էլ իր հերթին է պայքարում ղեկավար կազմում տեղ ունենալու համար՝ ասելով, որ եթե խմբակցության ղեկավարը Քոչարյանի քվոտայով է, իսկ քարտուղարը՝ Դաշնակցության, ապա իրենց կուսակցության անդամն էլ պետք է տեղ զբաղեցնի խորհրդարանի բեմում։

«Պատիվ ունեմ» դաշինքում էլ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ուզում է առաջ մղել ՀՀԿ-ական Աննա Մկրտչյանին, Արթուր Վանեցյանը՝ Իշխան Զաքարյանին, սակայն խորհրդարանական մեր աղբյուրները վստահեցնում են, որ այս հարցի բանալին իշխանության ձեռքում է՝ ում ուզեն, նրան էլ կընտրեն, իրենք հակված են Զաքարյանի թեկնածության օգտին, քանզի նրա հետ հնարավոր կլինի ցանկացած հարցում պայմանավորվել, եւ անգամ խմբակցության ղեկավարը չի կարողանա դրա վրա ազդեցություն ունենալ։
