ԵՄ-ն վճարել է Սաակաշվիլիի կուսակցության ղեկավար Նիկա Մելիայի դեմ սահմանված գրավը՝ նրան ազատ արձակելու համար

Ժողովրդավարության եվրոպական հիմնադրամը վճարել է 40 000 լարիի (ավելի քան 11 600 դոլար) չափով գրավը, որը սահմանվել էր Վրաստանի նախկին նախագահ Միխեիլ Սաակաշվիլիի հիմնադրած «Միասնական ազգային շարժում» ընդդիմադիր կուսակցության ղեկավար Նիկա Մելիայի դեմ: Ինչպես փոխանցում է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը՝ մեջբերելով երկրում ԵՄ ներկայացուցչության հայտարարությունը, այդ քայլն արվել է, որպեսզի Մելիան ազատ արձակվի բանտից:

«Այսօր վճարվել է 40 000 լարի Նիկա Մելիային նախքան դատավարությունն ազատ արձակելու համար: Սրտանց շնորհակալություն ենք հայտնում երկու անկախ կազմակերպությունների, որոնք համաձայնել են աջակցել այդ գործընթացին՝ Ժողովրդավարության եվրոպական հիմնադրամին, որը տրամադրել է գումարը, և Վրաստանի Երիտասարդ իրավաբանների միությանը, որը փոխանցել է վերոնշյալ գումարն իշխանություններին»,- ասվում է հաղորդագրության մեջ:

Մելիային ձերբակալել են փետրվարի 23-ին՝ 2019 թվականի հունիսին տեղի ունեցած անկարգությունների մասին գործով սահմանված գրավը չվճարելու համար: Նրա ազատ արձակումը «Վրացական երազանք» իշխող կուսակցության և ընդդիմության ներկայացուցիչների միջև ապրիլի 19-ին կնքված համաձայնության պայմաններից մեկն է:

Համաձայնագիրը ենթադրում է նաև լայնամասշտաբ ընտրական և դատական բարեփոխումների անցկացում և խորհրդարանի կողմից համաներման մասին օրենքի ընդունում, որով Մելիայից բացի քրեական պատասխանատվությունից կազատվեն անկարգությունների մասին գործով անցնող այլ անձինք:

Բացի այդ, ըստ պայմանավորվածության՝ եթե հոկտեմբերին կայանալիք ՏԻՄ ընտրություններում իշխող կուսակցությունը 43 տոկոսից քիչ ձայն հավաքի, ապա 2022 թվականին արտահերթ խորհրդարանական ընտրություններ կնշանակվեն:
