Իսպանիայի ազգային գրադարանից անհետացել է իտալացի գիտնական Գալիլեո Գալիլեյի 5, այլ  ոչ թե 1 գիրք, ինչպես կարծում էին նախկինում:

Այս մասին գրում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ն՝ հղում անելով երկրի մշակույթի նախարարությանը:

Նշվում է՝ մարտի կեսերին հայտնի է դարձել երկրի գլխավոր գրադարանից Գալիլեո Գալիլեյի Sidereus Nuncius տրակտատի անհետացման մասին, որը հրատարակվել է 1610 թվականին: Այդ մասին գրադարանը տեղեկացել էր դեռ 2014 թ.-ին, երբ պարզել էր՝ իրական գրքի փոխարեն իրենց մոտ դրա կեղծ օրինակն էր: Այնուամենայնիվ, գրադարանի աշխատակիցները որոշել էին գաղտնի պահել տեղեկությունը, և ոստիկանությանն այս մասին հայտնել են միայն 2018-ին: Հանրությունը գրքի կորստի մասին իմացել է միայն վերջերս:

Այնուամենայնիվ, իտալացի գիտնականի գրքերը գրադարանի միակ կորուստը չեն: Այսպիսով, տվյալների շտեմարանում ներառված գրեթե 15 հազար գիրք և փաստաթուղթ հնարավոր չէ գտնել գրադարանում: Դրանցից 54-ն առանձնահատուկ արժեք ունի, քանի որ վերջիններիս արժեքը գերազանցում է 5000 եվրոն: Հայտնի է, որ գրականության մեծ մասն անհետացել է 1980-90-ականներին, հիմնականում 1987 թվականին, երբ գրադարանից խոշոր գողություն է կատարվել:
