Մենք պետք է փոքր տարիքից դաունի համախտանիշով երեխաներին սովորեցնենք ինքնուրույն կյանք վարելու հմտություններ, նրանց համար ապահովենք արժանապատիվ ապրելու պայմաններ, որպեսզի կյանքում չբախվեն խարանի ու խտրականության: Այս մասին ասվում է ՀՀ ՄԻՊ Արման Թաթոյանի տարածած հայտարարության մեջ` նվիրված Դաունի համախտանիշով մարդկանց միջազգային օրվան:

«Մարտի 21-ը Դաունի համախտանիշով մարդկանց` «արևների» միջազգային օրն է:

Պետք է գնահատել հաշմանդամություն ունեցող յուրաքանչյուր մարդու արժանապատվությունն ու ներուժը, թույլ չտալ որևէ մեկուսացում:

Մենք պետք է փոքր տարիքից դաունի համախտանիշով երեխաներին սովորեցնենք ինքնուրույն կյանք վարելու հմտություններ, նրանց համար ապահովենք արժանապատիվ ապրելու պայմաններ, որպեսզի կյանքում չբախվեն խարանի ու խտրականության:

Պետությունը պետք է լիարժեք կատարի իր պարտավորությունները հաշմանդամություն ու նաև իհարկե` դաունի համախտանիշ ունեցող մարդկանց նկատմամբ. երեխայի` ընտանիքում ապրելու ու մեծանալու, կրթության, անկախ ու ներառական կյանքով ապրելու և այլ իրավունքներ։

Անհրաժեշտ է ընդլայնել համայնքահեն ծառայությունների ու հմտությունների զարգացման ծրագրերը, որպեսզի հնարավոր լինի բացահայտել դաունի համախտանիշ ունեցող և, առհասարակ, հաշմանդամություն ունեցող մարդկանց ինքնուրույնությունը, նրանց զարգացման հնարավորությունները։

Պետք է իրականացնել լայնածավալ իրազեկման ծրագրեր` կոտրելու համար բոլոր կարծրատիպերը:

Մենք պետք է համատեղ ջանքներով ստեղծենք ներառական հասարակություն, ներառական այնպիսի միջավայր, որտեղ գնահատվում է յուրաքանչյուր մարդու արժանապատվություն` անկախ հաշմանդամությունից ու առկա է որոշումների կայացմանը երաշխավորված մասնակցություն:
