«Բզկտված ու հուսահատ Հայրենիքի վերջին հենարանն իր բանակն է, թեկուզև, այս անգամ՝ պարտված... Ժողովրդից ծնված բանակը, որքան էլ դժվար, պետք է նորից դառնա այն, ինչպիսին նրան ստեղծել ու ոգեշնչել է ժողովուրդը... Բանակում «նախկիններ» ու «ներկաներ» չեն լինում... Բանակի նախկինն ու ներկան նրա անցած մարտական ուղին է՝ հաճախ վերելքներով, իսկ որոշ դեպքերում՝ նաև անկումներով... Բանակին ու նրա զորավարին կարող է վիրավորել թշնամին, բայց ոչ երբեք նա, ով իր անվտանգության համար պարտական է հենց նույն այդ բանակին և նրա անցած ուղու ծանրությունն ուսած զինվորական մարդուն... Մարդիկ լինում են տարբեր, այդ թվում՝ նաև զինվորականները... Նրանք, իրենց ուժեղ կողմերով հանդերձ, կարող են ունենալ նաև թուլություններ, ինչը բնական ու երկրային է... Զինվորական մարդու մասին կարծիք հայտնելուց առաջ յուրաքանչյուր ոք պարտավոր է առանձնանալ ինքն իր խղճի հետ և պատասխանել սոսկ երկու հարցի. առաջին՝ ի՞նչ եմ արել ես, որ չի արել նա Հայրենիքի համար և, երկրորդ՝ ի՞նչ է արել նա, որ ես չեմ արել Հայրենիքի համար...

Հ.գ.-Բանակին պետք է վստահել, իսկ զինվորական մարդուն՝ հարգել, ինչն ավաղ մեր երկրում այսօր կիսատ ու անկատար է... Անկատար է, քանի որ նա, ով առաջինը պետք է հարգի բանակը ներկայացնող զինվորական մարդուն և իր վերաբերմունքով օրինակ ծառայի շարքային քաղաքացու համար, ոչ միայն իր կենսագրությամբ անհաղորդ է բանակային կյանքին, այլև միամտորեն կարծում է, թե զինվորական մարդն իր կատարածուն է, և նրա հետ կարելի է վերաբերվել այնպես, ինչպես կամենում է թիվ մեկ պատահականությունը…»:
