Վազգեն Թևանյանը տապալեց ադրբեջանցուն և նվաճեց ոսկե մեդալ

Տոկիո-2020 Օլիմպիական խաղերի ուղեգիր նվաճած Վազգեն Թևանյանը (65 կգ) շանս չտվեց ադրբեջանցի Հաջի Ալիևին և նվաճեց Հունգարիայի մայրաքաղաք Բուդապեշտում անցկացվող ազատ ոճի ըմբշամարտի եվրոպական գոտու օլիմպիական վարկանիշային մրցաշարի հաղթողի կոչումը:

Եզրափակիչում Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչը 9:0 հաշվով վստահ հաղթանակ տարավ Ռիո-2016 Օլիմպիական խաղերի բրոնզե մեդալակիր, աշխարհի և Եվրոպայի եռակի չեմպիոն Հաջի Ալիևի նկատմամբ:

2020թ. աշխարհի գավաթի հաղթող Վազգեն Թևանյանը պայքարը սկսել էր որակավորման փուլից, որտեղ ժամանակից շուտ 11։0 հաշվով պարտության էր մատնել բուլղարացի Վլադիմիր Դուբովին: Քառորդ եզրափակիչի ուղեգիրը նա վիճարկել էր Բելառուսի ներկայացուցիչ Նիուրգուն Սկրիաբինի հետ և հաղթել 7։5 հաշվով։ Քառորդ եզրափակիչում Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչը 6։4 հաշվով առավելության էր հասել Ռիո-2016 Օլիմպիական խաղերի չեմպիոն, վրացի Վլադիմիր Խանչեգաշվիլիի նկատմամբ, իսկ կիսաեզրափակիչում ուժեղ էր գտնվել Լեհաստանը ներկայացնող 33-ամյա Մոգամեդմուրադ Գաջիևից:

Եվրոպայի 2019թ. չեմպիոն Արսեն Հարությունյանը (57 կգ) եզրափակիչում 8:3 հաշվով հաղթել է բուլղարացի Գեորգի Վանգելովին և նույնպես նվաճել ոսկե մեդալ:

Ազատ ոճի ըմբշամարտի Հայաստանի հավաքականի կազմում հանդես էին եկել նաև Հրայր Ալիխանյանը (74 կգ) և Հովհաննես Մխիթարյանը (86 կգ), որոնք հաջողության չհասան:

Բուդապեշտի մրցաշարում Տոկիոյի Օլիմպիական խաղերի ուղեգրեր են նվաճում միայն եզրափակիչ դուրս եկած ըմբիշները:

Հունահռոմեական ոճի ըմբշամարտի Հայաստանի հավաքականի կազմում հանդես կգան Գևորգ Ղարիբյանը (60 կգ), Սլավիկ Գալստյանը (67 կգ), Արթուր Շահինյանը (87 կգ) և Դավիթ Օվասապյանը (130 կգ):

Կորոնավիրուսի պանդեմիայի պատճառով Տոկիո-2020 Օլիմպիական խաղերը հետաձգվել էին մեկ տարով և կանցկացվեն 2021թ. հուլիսի 23-ից օգոստոսի 8-ը: Մինչև այս Հայաստանն ուներ ևս 4 օլիմպիական ուղեգիր, երկուսը՝ հունահռոմեական ըմբշամարտում (Կարապետ Չալյան, 77 կգ, Արթուր Ալեքսանյան, 97 կգ), մեկական՝ սպորտային մարմնամարզությունում (Արթուր Դավթյան) ու բռնցքամարտում (Կորյուն Սողոմոնյան, 52 կգ):
