Արամ Սարգսյանը կառավարությունում էր, ուր գնացել էր Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հրավերով:

Հանդիպումից հետո լրագրողների հետ զրույցում Սարգսյանը խոսեց նաև ապաշրջափակման գաղափարի մասին՝ հայտարարելով, որ չկա ժողովուրդ, որն ուզում է շրջափակված ապրել. «Ցանկացած ապաշրջափակման մենք պետք է «այո» ասենք, բայց դա բազմաթիվ հարցեր ու խնդիրներ ունի, որոնց պետք է նայել:

Նույն Խորհրդային Միության տարիներին ապաշրջափակում էր, սակայն Բաքու-Երևան, Մոսկվա-Երևան գնացքը, երբ անցնում էր, քարերով քարկոծում էինք: Երեխաներին դատելու խնդիր չկա, բայց ծնողներիս կանչում էին ոստիկանություն:

Մի անգամ մեր ծնողներին կանչեցին ոստիկանություն, քանի որ Վազգենը քարերով խփել էր գնացքին:

Այստեղ ազգային հոգեբանական խնդիր կա:

Ամբողջ հարցը նրանում է, որ Ադրբեջանն այդ տարածքից չի հեռանալու, ոչ էլ մենք ենք հեռանալու: Սա էլ բազմաբնակարան շենք չէ, որ մեր գլխին ջուր լցնելու համար տունը վաճառենք գնանք:

Պետք է փորձենք իրավիճակները հարթել, ճիշտ լուծումներ տալ: Շահեկան կլինի մեզ համար, եթե ուժեղ պետություն ունենանք: Բնականաբար Ադրբեջանը կյանքում մեզ չէր հաղթի, եթե չօգներ Թուրքիան, եթե գերժամանակակից զենքեր չգներ»:

Սարգսյանի խոսքերով, Հայաստանն էլ պետք է հնարավորություններից օգտվի, գումարի դրան զինվորի խիզախությունը. «Մեզ հետ կրկին հաշվի կնստեն, կսկսեն մեր կարծիքը հաշվի առնել: Մենք դրա հնարավորությունն ունենք, աշխատել է պետք, պետք է յուրաքանչյուրս մեր տեղում՝ անկախ նրանից, թե ինչ վերաբերմունք ունենք իշխանության նկատմամբ, մեր առաջարկներն անենք»:
