Հին հակամարտություններից Սեմյոնովն առանձնացրել է Աֆղանստանը, Քաշմիրը, Պաղեստինը և Սիրիան, որտեղ կառավարությունը կրկին կարող է փորձել ուժով հետ վերցնել Իդլիբ նահանգը: Իսկ ի՞նչ իրավիճակ է հետխորհրդային տարածքում: ՄԳԻՄՈ- ի միջազգային հետազոտությունների ինստիտուտի ավագ գիտաշխատող Ալեքսեյ Տոկարևը կարծում է, որ 2021 թվականին, չնայած հակամարտության գոտիների առկայությանը, իրավիճակը վերահսկողությունից դուրս չի գա: Նա համոզված է, որ Վրաստանը չի փորձի վերադարձնել Հարավային Օսիան և Աբխազիան, Մոլդովայում նոր իշխանությունները՝ նախագահ Մայա Սանդուի գլխավորությամբ, կխորացնեն Մոսկվայի դեմ հռետորաբանությունը և կպահանջեն Մերձդնեստրից ռուս խաղաղապահների դուրսբերումը, սակայն սրացում չի ակնկալվում: Ըստ փորձագետի, ոչ ոք չի ցանկանում կրկնել Միխայիլ Սահակաշվիլիի ճակատագիրը:

Տոկարևը կարծում է, որ Ղարաբաղում Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև նոր սրացման հավանականությունը նվազեցնում է ռուս զինվորականների ներկայությունը, բայց Ուկրաինայի իշխանությունները կարող են ոգեշնչվել Բաքվի հաջողություններից։ «Ուկրաինայում շատ են ոգևորվել Ղարաբաղում Ադրբեջանի հաջողություններից, հակաօդային պաշտպանությունը ճնշելու, զինված ուժերը և ռազմական տեխնիկան ոչնչացնելու հարցում թուրքական անօդաչու սարքերի հաջողությունից: Ուկրաինական «բազեները» կփորձեն սրել իրավիճակը Դոնբասում, բայց Ռուսաստանը կհիշեցնի, որ իրավիճակը նույնը չէ, ինչ Ղարաբաղում էր»,- ասել է Տոկարևը:
